Keep the content fresh and dynamic

A stale and static blog passes a signal that you and your business don’t have anything significant going on or anything worthwhile to state at a given point of time. Obviously, there is no incentive or reason for them to revisit it in the near future, at least. This can adversely impact online traffic and hurt your site’s search engine position.

Try to get multiple voices and opinions involved. Having a good mix of ideas ensures that the posts do not get repetitive in nature. Second, it allows users to understand multiple viewpoints.  It also gives you an opportunity to incorporate important keywords, which will bring more traffic to your site.

Nothing could be get more distracting and irritating for users on your part to just sticking to the official announcements and developments. Come up with interesting content ideas on a wide array of domain specific subjects that will appeal your target audience.

Share interesting ideas and strategies

Educate them on a particular area of your operations and share your expertise so that the people feel compelled to visit your blog. Share some interesting business and marketing lessons that you’ve learnt over the years. Users appreciate an effort to apply those lessons for analyzing and suggesting new strategies.

A dynamic blog can’t merely discuss internal topics in form of monotonous press releases, new product offerings and services, all the time. Add value to the blog writing exercise by giving an insight and fresh perspective on the different industry scenarios that will help your readers.

Be reader friendly and interactive in your approach

Encourage dialogue by posting thought-provoking ideas, posing questions and inviting reader comments. Then make sure that you will also respond at the earliest, to display your keenness to continue the dialogue! Remember, it’s not a one-off process! You should be consistent in your approach to instill confidence in readers. Focus on value addition form their perspective instead of flaunting your knowledge that serves no practical purpose and in no way helps them perform their tasks better.

There is absolutely no point in hosting a corporate blog merely for the sake of having one. It will not help in your branding efforts. Conversely, it may harm your business image, displaying your lack of seriousness.  A corporate blog is a handy tool, provided a strategy is put in place to manage it well, proper content is posted, and it’s regularly updated.
